UsNow is an exhibition with which to think about who we are in 2013, in this country and world economy, in our communities, and as artists and people. It is an exhibition dedicated to discovering more about the communities of artists and cultures that enrich our lives in Wellington and beyond, and the environments that place them. In particular, it is concerned with a number of questions including: ‘Who are we now?’; What communities do we belong to?; What do we know about others in our neighbourhoods?; Who are we as artists and people?; What do we care about and value?; What moves and changes us?; and What are our aspirations and fears?
UsNow highlights the importance of different communities and the complexity of multiculturalism as well as issues of social and personal concern and responsibility that enliven our 21st Century environments.
