Art in Our Windows

The Academy’s gallery needs to boost its signage, to make sure that people driving or walking along Jervois Quay, or milling on the waterfront, know who we are and what we offer.

We are presenting artist members with the opportunity to make ‘art-in-the-window’. Imagine the word ‘Art’ in the top panel of all of our double-height windows on both sides of our building, each given a different life by a different artist! Under that word would be a typograhical ‘sign’ identifying the artist.

If you would like to participate, here is what you need to know:
·        You can work in any medium on a scannable surface. We scan your work, resize it, and print it onto an appropriate foamboard that will be mounted in the window.
·        The road-facing windows are smaller than, and of different proportions to, the waterfront-facing windows.
o       Street-facing are either 550 or 870mm wide and 700mm high.
o       Waterfront-facing are 1,000mm wide and 1,000mm high.
·        ‘Art’ will be accepted and swapped out from time to time at the discretion of the curator.
·        You should call Jodie Dalgleish on (04) 499 8807, or e-mail gallery@nzafa.com.
