Dilana encompasses a unique culture of contemporary carpet design that has evolved since the Christchurch rug-making workshop opened in 1980. The workshop has been the catalyst for fine artists, designers and architects, collaborating in the design and production of textile floor coverings. 

Dilana’s recent extension into designing and manufacturing machine-made carpet is a natural progression, creating organised pattern and compositions over large areas.  As new carpet making technologies challenge conventional carpet design, it allows today's digital design culture to express a fresh aesthetic in contemporary carpets.
