Arthouse - Art for the New Ronald McDonald House
ARTHOUSE: Raising a unique public collection for Ronald McDonald House
Donate a work of art to the new Ronald McDonald House Wellington - enrich the quality of life for families who will stay and also support emerging New Zealand artists.
We are looking for caring sponsors - individuals, businesses and community groups - enthused about the completion of the New Ronald McDonald House and the arts, to purchase a work by a New Zealand artist and donate it to this home-away-from-home for families with sick children.
• Select your favourite work of art – the one that you would like to present – purchase and gift now to the new House, or bid for it at a special ‘cocktail function’ auction at the Academy, 22nd September 5-6.30pm. Find out more.
• The new Ronald McDonald House in Wellington opens on the 26th October 2012 and will feature a collection of 100 artworks by leading New Zealand artists, facilitated by the New Zealand Academy of Fine Arts.
• For over 500 families each year, Ronald McDonald House provides a free home-away-from-home. Complementing this experience will be a unique art collection through all four levels of the building that will delight, challenge and entertain families and visitors, bringing reassurance when it is most needed. More.
• Over the past 130 years, the Academy of Fine Arts has exhibited the work of New Zealand artists and in 2013 it introduces a new exhibition series, supporting artists at the earliest stages of their careers, introducing their work to new audiences throughout New Zealand.
